Our Story
In 2009, Lara & David Bishop (CraftAidUK's founders) travelled to Uganda and were immediately struck by the challenges facing many young children forced to live on the streets of the country's capital, Kampala. Through no fault of their own, and as a result of many different situations, these children had no option but to depend on themselves for survival with a very bleak future ahead.

CraftAidUK started its life as a grant-making organisation which helped a number of preexisting groups to look after children in their care. Over the years, we consolidated our activities into running our own home and fully supporting a smaller group of children.

Today's home looks after a small number of children - all of whom are in full-time education and receive the care they'd otherwise be denied by living on the streets.
